Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has snubbed Governor Umar Gandije of Kano state who visited jigawa state yesterday Tuesday to formally commissioned Multi million Naira Islamiyya school and women center in Malammadori local government council in Jigawa state.
The visiting Kano state Governor  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje launched the two projects through his foundation popularly known as Ganduje Foundation which built both the school and women center in Malam Madori with a view to enhancing religious education in addressing the issue of Almajiri syndrome in Jigawa.
During his visit to Jigawa State which wasn’t attended by any officials of the state government, he also  launched free eye treatment targeting more than 2,000 people in the state.
The free eye treatment was also sponsored by Ganduje Foundation to enable less privileged to  access the  eye  treatment in the state.
The conspicuous absence of the Jigawa State Governor and other top government officials might not be unconnected to the APC national politics where the two neighbouring governors belong to two different political camps.
According to Suleman Musa an APC stalwart in Malam Madori, “we were not surprised about Governor Badaru”s absence at the occasion because you know, Governor Ganduje belongs to Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential aspirant team while Jigawa Governor  belongs to another team.
During the Ganduje visit, the Emir of Hadejia, Dr Adamu Abubakar  led traditional rulers to receive him and celebrated the good gesture.
While contacted, the Public Relations Officer of Jigawa State Ministry of Education, Comrade Wasilu Ibrahim insisted that, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry,  Hajiya Safiya Muhammad was sent to represent the commissioner at the occasion.
However, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Public Relations, Mr Habibu Nuhu Kila didn’t pick repeated calls to his phone for further comments on the development.
