In his quest to alleviate hardship faced across the country due to fuel subsidy removal, member House of Reps Hon. Ahmed Munir has distributed food items to over 2,000 households in his constituency.

Hon. Munir represents Lere Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The member, while sharing out edible food items, ranging from rice, spaghetti,  groundnut oil among others, decried rising number of households who could not afford to provide decent square meals for their families.

He described the development as worrisome and capable of worsening the current state of insecurity.

Hon. Munir called on elected officers in the present dispensation to do more by paying special attention to the welfare of people, especially those at the grassroots.

He assured of continuous support to Lere constituents, urging those in need of assistance, particularly on education, vocation and health to feel free to get across to his office.

Beneficiaries spoken to by our correspondent commended the member for his generous and kind gestures.

A beneficiary, Musa Isa described the gesture as timely, coming when most people could hardly purchase enough food for family consumption.

A widow, Larai Yusuf was full of prayers for the member for reaching out to the needy with food items, saying it would go a long way in alleviating difficulties faced by families.

She charged well-to-do individuals in the society to emulate Hon. Munir by giving out to the needy.
