A 12-year-old unidentified house girl on Thursday, landed herself in hospital after jumping a storey building to escape rape by her master.
Though the details of the incident which took place in Ifite, Awka area of Anambra State are still sketchy, an Anambra based broadcaster, Mrs Ify Unachukwu who posted the incident on her Facebook page, called for help for the young girl, who is said to be presently in critical condition.
Information has it that the girl fractured her leg while trying to escape being raped.
Unachukwu wrote, “12 year old househelp jumps down the window of a storey building to escape rape by her ‘Oga’. She sustained fracture of her leg bone (tibia). Now moved from Climax Specialist Hospital, Awka to COOUTH Amaku.”
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Tochukwu Ikenga has confirmed the arrest of the culprit.
He said the suspect was making statement currently, assuring that he will make available the full detail of the incident to the media once ready.
Ikenga added, “The suspect is in custody and investigation has begun.”
