President Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) and North West Zonal Representative Engr. Musa Nimrod has distributed two beach balls and two indoor balls alongside a net each to the seven North West States.

Nimrod who made the donation to the directors of sports of the various North West states on the sidelines of the zonal eliminations, preparatory for the National Sports Festival (NSF) said, the donation of the balls and nets was part of his efforts to encourage the various states in the game.

“I want to appreciate God very much that the game is improving in Northwest. I am the Zonal representative and that’s why am doing this for the development of the Northwest zone. So, we want to improve the game in the Northeast Zone and that’s the purpose.

“North-west zone has been producing quite a lot of young players and we want to see more of it in the Northwest Zone because people believe that Northwest zone is very conventional and traditional but then we just have to encourage this game.

” As the president of the NVBF, I cannot be selfish, all of them are my players. Am monitoring the players and want to see how I can get good players. My concern now is can I maintain the under-19 African Champions which Nigerian has won for consecutive three times?

“For kaduna, they are in premier league now both male and female teams which is good. There is development in that aspect. So most of these young boys for Kaduna they will be strong in the next two to three years. They are going to develop themselves . They are going to be strong because alot of young players are among them. So I know they will qualify to National Sports festival. That’s not a problem” he stressed.

Also, Nimrod expressed delight with the demonstration of the Nigeria Break Dance Sport Federation (NBDSF) saying, Nigeria has a lot of potentials.

“I can see, that Nigeria has great potentials for the future game plans competition. This is just the beginning of this break dance sport federation. Today we are beginning the journey for a success, doesn’t start with 100m race, I always said It’s a 1000m or 10,000 metre race. For you to succeed, you must be patient, persever, and prayerful in this race because we are in a digital world today.

“For the first time I have been watching it, break dance even at the last common wealth games and Olympic games. I have watched it; I pay attention to all sports. It’s not just only volleyball. I always tell people that I am a barrack boy. A very pure born barrack boy. There is no sports I have not done.

“I want to pass this to the young ones in this country. You are starting a journey, a journey that will require a lot of patience. Some of you that have started, I want to tell you the truth, as this sport gets more publicity, some will be envious of you. challenges will start. Everybody will want to come in because this is the second safe free sport that is inclined to Youth upliftment.

“I want to appeal to the government both the Federal Ministry of Youths and sports development, Break dance is a major sport that will help Nigerian government and ministry to bring the youths together against all violence, drug use, Banditry, kidnappings, these is the sport that will bring the youths close to themselves” he stressed..

Also speaking, Vice President NBDSF, Muhammed Kabir said, “I am privileged to be here on behalf of my president, Daniel Omokachi. We are here to showcase ourself in this sports team elimination. Is our wish and dream to be in Asaba, Delta State for the NSF, So that everybody will know that breakdance is now an Olympic sport.
