Zenith Bank doles out N2.5M to partners Akwa Ibom government on education

As part of its contributions to the advancement of education in Akwa Ibom State, Zenith Bank plc Friday presented cheques worth N2.5 million to school children in Akwa Ibom state through the bank scholarship scheme.
The cheques were presented during this year’s Children’s day celebration held at the Uyo township stadium in the state capital.
The pupils were selected from the raffle draw of the bank’s education account in which each pupil was presented with a cheque of N250,000 each.
Speaking, the Regional Manager of the bank, Emmanuel Etta said the scholarship scheme is the bank’s commitment to investment in education,  adding that similar events were being held in 15 other states of the federation.
In addition to the cheques, the bank also presented school bags with exercise books and pens to the school children as they marched during the children’s day celebration which also featured cultural dances by many schools in the state.
Also, the Port Harcourt Power Distribution Company in demonstration of its corporate social responsibility also presented children with school bags and reading materials.
