Zaria Residents Appeal To el-Rufai To Complete Drainage Projects

As the raining season begins with a heavy down pour across Kaduna State, there is the need for the state government to as a matter of urgency, revisit the abandoned drainage projects.

Most of the areas visited after the rainfall on Thursday in Sabon Gari and Zaria ocal  government areas, shows that urgent steps need to be taken to save the unforeseen problems that may arise as a result of uncompleted projects in those areas.

The situation has brought fear and worries on peoples mind on what will happen to their homes if the situation remains the same.

One important issue they pointed out is that the abandoned drainage projects may lead to destroying their homes and properties.

The benefiting communities have expressed concerns on the situation, which they say needs urgent action.

While calling on Governor Nasir el-Rufa’i to forget about the mistakes committed on these projects and allow the projects to continue for the benefit of the people, they also appealed to the contractors to do only quality jobs according to specification.

According to the affected communities if the projects is not completed there is tendencies of getting outbreak because of the blockage of water ways.
