The Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Kaduna State Government to look into the the Army/ Shi’ite clash in Zaria has adjourned the sitting again till next week Monday, 7th March, 2016 for further sitting just as the Islamic Movement of Nigeria threatened to boycott the inquiry until its leader, Sheik Ibrahim Yakubu Elzakzaky is released unconditionally.
Chairman of the Commission directed Councel to the Commission to liase with the Chief Justice and Attorney General of the Federation to ensure Councel to the Islamic Movement have access to their leader; Sheik ElzakzakyDepartment of State Services (DSS).
Meanwhile, addressing a media conference at Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna Council after the sitting, the members of the Movement led by Dr. Abdulahi Danladi said the Movement would decline to participate and have any dealings with the Judicial Commission of Inquiry until Elzakzaky is released unconditionally.
According to him, Elzakzaky has been held incommunicado without being allowed access to his Lawyers nor allowed to appear before the Commission of Inquiry. He also accused some members of the Commission of bias against the Movement and would not be just and fair.
He asserted that some of the members of the Commission are not qualified to sit on the Inquiry as they have shown their disdain for the Sect Members in the past and would not be fair and just to the Movement.
The Movement demanded for the reconstitution of the Commission as some member “represent some of the services that engage in acts of genocide against the movement. It is therefore unjust to deny the Movement representation in the Commission”
He alleged that the Movement Legal Team “led by Femi Falana SAN and Festus Okoye Esq have made more than four fruitless attempts to see the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria and interview him for the purpose of submitting memorandum to the Judicial Commission of Inquiry and his appearance before the  said Commission”.
He said the two Lawyers have visited the “headquarters of the DSS on more than four occasions at the invitation of the DSS for purpose of having audience with the leader of the movement and all the visits yielded no result. It is therefore clear that there is laid out plan to prevent the legal team of the Movement from having access to its leader, its spokesperson and custodian of its property”
