Zamfara Killings: National Commission For Refugees Donates Relief Items, Cash To Victims, IDPs

The National Commission For Refugees, Migrants and Internal Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) on Thursday donated relief items and cash to survivors and relatives of the recent and other killings in Zamfara State.

Presenting the relief items in Zurmi, Moriki and Shinkafi Emirates, the NCFRMI Federal Commissioner, Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruq said the donation was parts of the federal government”s commitments to bring succour to those affected by the activities of armed bandits and cattle rustlers in the state.

She said the items being donated by the commission is meant to serve as palliative measures to cushion the bad effects as a result of the  loss of their loved ones killed by armed bandits and cattle rustlers.

“We are giving these items to the families of those who loss their bread winners and also empowering the  IDPs to improve their socioeconomic status,” she said.

In their separate responses, the Emir of Zurmi, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Mohammed, Emir of Moriki, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Are and Emir of Shinkafi, Alhaji Muhammad Makwashe Isa commended the commission for the donations, assuring of the judicious distribution of the items to the targeted beneficiaries.

The items donated by the commission included food items, health care materials, household utensils, agricultural equipment and empowerment equipment.
