Zamfara Governor Signs 2017 Budget of N115 Billion

Zamfara State Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar  has signed the 115 Billion Naira 2017 budget into law, reiterating the determination of his administration to better the lot of the people.
The 115 Billion Naira is eight Billion Naira higher than the 107 billon naira earlier presented to the state House of Assembly.
Signing the budget at the State Government House, Gusau, the governor said the appropriation bill for 2017 will serve as budget of consolidation and will consider the enhancement of the state’s internally generated revenue to enable his administration meet the yearning and aspirations of the entire people of the state.
He commended Zamfara law makers for urgent passage of the budget, described the effort as timely as it will give his administration an opportunity to make feasible study towards ensuring provision of basic necessities to the entire people of the state.
The Speaker Zamfara state house of Assembly, Sanusi Garba Rikiji gave reasons for the jacking up of the  2017 proposed budget by the State Assembly.
“After carefully scrutinized the content of the proposed 2017 budget of over N107 billion presented to the house earlier, we closely worked to ensure that peoples demands in all nooks and crannies of the state werecovered,” he said.
Rikiji said, the estimate on capital expenditure stands at over N74 billion as against Over N70 billion, while the recurrent expenditure has been increased to over N41 billion as against over N34 billion as earlier presented, explaining that, the sum of 115 Billion Naira was the finally agreed by the House of Assembly as the  2017 budget which governor Yari assented his signature.
