Zamfara Gets, New Vehicle Transit Area, Inland Dry Port

The Nigerian Shippers Council will immediately commence the construction of a new Vehicle Transit Area and Inland Dry Port in Gusau, the state capital.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communication Zailani Bappa and made available to New Nigerian yesterday. 

The statement said that the decision is part of the fall out from the concerted efforts of Matawalle’s  vision of an “Economically New Zamfara”.

According to the statement, in a letter of conveyance, the Nigerian Shippers Council also requested for an immediate commencement of the initial steps towards the realisation of these projects.

Zailani Bappa noted that already, a meeting between the state government officials and that of the Shippers Council is scheduled for early next month to roll-out a fast track to the take-off of the projects.

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle said the intention of his administration is to ensure that the state benefits from all available Federal Government transport and commercial infrastructure that will lead to economic leap for the state.

“Officers from the headquarters and zonal office of the Shippers Council will arrive Gusau early February in earnest preparation for the take-off of the projects”. The statement said.
