Yuletide; Bauchi to deploy 2, 500 Civil Defence personnel to ensure security

As part of its mandate to assist in peace maintenance, protect and rescue the civil population, the Nigeria Security & Civil Defense Corps in Bauchi State has deployed 2, 500 officers and men of the Corps to parts of the state to ensure hitch-free Maulud, Christmas, and New Year celebrations.
A press statement signed by the Corps Public Relations Officer, Garkuwa Adamu said the deployed officers and men were drawn from the Corps Anti-riot, Armed squad, Intelligence, Counter Terrorism and Rescue/Medical unit.
Adamu explained that the NSCDC officers and men are strategically placed at certain locations across the state such as Churches, Mosques, Children parks, recreational centres, and other crowded streets within Bauchi metropolis.
The statement called on the general public to go about their normal activities and celebrations, cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious movement of person (s) or group to the nearest security office.
