YSFON, RAMAT Cup Enters Semi-Final Stage

The semi- final matches of the on-going YSFON Organised annual General Murtala Mohammed Cup otherwise known as Ramat Cup will be decided today at the Kano Pillars Stadium, Kano.
In the first match of the day, host Kano State which yesterday defeated Katsina in one of the quarter-final matches will meet Kaduna which recorded a slim 2-1 victory over Ogun in the round of eight matches, Tournament’s favourites Kogi, which sent hard fighting Sokoto State packing from the competition will square up with Jigawa in the other semi final clash to be decided at the same venue.
To get to this state of the competition, Jigawa recorded a slim 2-1 victory over Taraba State .
Meanwhile National President of YSFON, Nasiru Gawuna has commended the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited so far by all the teams urging them to continue in the same mood till the finals of the competition organised for U-16 male players to immortalize Nigeria’s former Head of State General Murtala Mohammed.
Gawuna who also doubles as Kano State Commissioner For Agriculture noted that YSFON will continue to use its numerous competitions to develop grassroots football in the country just as he charged other states to emulate Kano State Government and sponsor other YSFON competitions.
The championship which started over a week ago will be declared closed on Saturday by the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
