The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has announced a new date for the kick off of the 36th edition of the annual Ramat Cup U-16 boys football competition earlier scheduled for February 10- ,19, 2018.
The competition will now hold from February 12-19, 2018 at the Kano Pillars Stadium, Sabon Garri, Kano.
According to a statement by the Federation, signed by it’s National Secretary, Patrick Okpavuerhe,the slight change in date became necessary because of the Local Government election taking place in Kano State on Saturday,February 10, 2018.
The statement noted that arrival date will now be on February 12(Monday), with assurance that a member of national organising committee and Kano State YSFON official will be on ground to receive the teams while screening will be on the 13th followed immediately with the kick off warning that no team will be admitted after close of screening.
Okpavuerhe while promising teams that accomodation shall be provided in school hostels for all the participating teams, enjoined all interested teams to make adequate provision for both their transportation and feeding as the federation will not be responsible for the above mentioned as well as their 4×100 relay teams and also endeavour to pay their affiliation fees”.concluded Okpavuerhe.
Meanwhile, the YSFON President, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has commended the Kano State Government under the leadership of Alhaji Ganduje for it’s steadfastness in sponsoring the tournament in the last 36 years non stop.
