Youth of Niger Delta have expressed confidence on the leadership of Professor Emmanuel Achuenu as Rector Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
In a statement signed by Comrade Ufuoma Victor Erharhine as President of Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC) eulogized leadership skills and qualities of Pro. Achuenu over the technical higher institution since assumption of duty three years ago.
Comrade Erharhine mentioned; innovation, infrastructural development, improved security and academic excellence among others as some notable achievements of the head of the Delta State-owned polytechnic which he stated had spiked upward academic status of the institution amongst its peers.
The statement further described the rector as student-friendly who had been paying due attention to welfare of learners and staff of the school.
“We make bold to say that the institution and the academia in general is fortunate to have such a detribalised and patriotic individual whose concern is to see an improved learning environment in which exchange of knowledge thrives.
“Via his rare and commendable leadership qualities the schools has earned respect and good reputation amongst committee of stakeholders.
“Students, academic and non-academic staff of the institution are singing the praises of this illustrious son for his selfless service to fatherland.
“We the youth of Niger Delta recently got attracted by the good job Professor Acheunu was doing in the Ogwashi-Uku premier academic institution that we had to confer an award of excellence on him in order to encourage the good man to do more for our students and society.
“It is therefore our collective resolve and decision to call on the Delta State Government and other relevant authorities to renew the appointment of Prof. Achuenu for another second term as Rector Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku so he could have the leverage to consolidate his giant strides for growth and development of the institution,” the statement added.
