Yobe, Kaduna, Lagos Bag Best Performing States Awards For 2022 Hajj Operations

Yobe, Kaduna and Lagos State have bagged the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s (NAHCON)  best-performing states awards for the year 2022 Hajj operations.

Other states that excelled in other specific areas were also recognized and recommended for the award by the Assessment and Award Committee for 2022

NAHCON said in a statement, that among the committee’s main tasks includes monitoring the States Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards (SMPWBs) to identify those that excelled in service delivery to its pilgrims and score each accordingly.

“From the record of the scores, Yobe state SMPWB came first with 117 points out of 130 cumulative points, followed by Kaduna with 115 points and Lagos with 114 points. 

“Other states that excelled in specific areas were also recognized and recommended for award,” she said.

 The Committee Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Usman explained that the SMPWBs was assessed in 27 different areas; indices which the Assessment team selected from the Annual  Hajj Calendar of the event as a guide. 

NAHCON Chairman Alhaji Zikirullah Kunle Hassan said the committee members were selected from hajj veterans and renowned people with integrity, adding that  NAHCON will organize customary award ceremonies where each state will be celebrated.

In a similar development,  on Thursday,  Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, also received another award as Best State in Pilgrims Enlightenment / Security Management Service Delivery (2022 Hajj) from Independent Hajj Reporters at a public lecture.
