While describing former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulazeez Yari as a bridge builder, a group, Arewa Educational Foundation, Youth Development & Political Research, has charged all new and returning Senators to consider electing him President of the 10th Senate.
The group expressed this in a statement signed by its President, Yusuf Makarfi, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday May 23, 2023.
“Senator Yari is a truly democratic and far sighted leader with enormous intellectual resources that could guide not only the Senate, but the nation to the heights of socio- political economy.
“Looking back at his antecedence which everyone in Nigeria knows, we all unanimously without fear or favour stand beside Senator Abdulazeez Yari and endorse him for the President of the Senate.
“We also call on the entire Distinguish Senator- Elect to stand by him in the most decisive moments of our political history..
“Senator AA Yari is loyal, humble, committed and an exceptional bridge builder that would unite the nation,” the statement said.
They said that with various contestants throwing in their towel for the seat of the Senate President in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the association; which is patriotic and deeply rooted in integrity and good governance, observes that in the spirit of equity, Yari should be given the chance.
“In the spirit of equity and justice which this association was founded upon, we have finally decided on the preferred candidate to lead the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and also support the President in development, peace building initiative and unifying the hallow chamber.
“By all standard of democratic measurement, His Excellency, Senator Abdul’ azeez Abubakar Yari (Shatiman Mafara) stands tall and above all those that are clamoring for the coveted seat of the Senate President,” the group declared.
