Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Mr John Adewoye on Thursday hinted that NSCDC is to deploy 3,500 personnel to ensure a hitch-free Christmas and New year holiday in Oyo state.
Mr Adewoye who dropped this hint in Ibadan during a chat with newsmen at the Command’s headquarters said the NSCDC is determined to ensure adequate security before, during and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations
The State Commandant while handling down operational order to all Area Commanders and Divisional officer in the Command declared that
the deployed personnel include regular and undercover officers are assigned to be on 24hours surveillance and intensive patrol to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of the members of the public
Mr Adewoye stressed
that all the tourist and recreational centres, churches and all the entrances to the state will be well protected by the armed men along with sniffer dogs
He then advised the people of Oyo state to supply NSCDC and other security agencies with adequate information to curb crime during the celebration noting that the emergency phone lines of the Corps will be available for the members of the public.
Mr Adewoye also urged Nigerians to pray for love, peace and unity of the country, advising parents to warn their children against the use of fire crackers during the season to prevent fire outbreak
