Bauchi State Ministry of Social Welfare, Youths and Sports has distributed food items and clothing worth six million naira to the physically challenged in the state to facilitate smooth and bountiful celebrations of this year’s Christmas.
The items, according to the Ministry’s Commissioner, Pharmacist Ibrahim Madaki, include cows, rice and wrappers which were made readily available to physically challenged organizations of both Muslims and Christian’s faith.
Distributing the item at his ministry, the commissioner attributed the gesture to the good and exemplary leadership Bauchi state has under Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
Pharmacist Ibrahim Madaki explained that the good ideas and policies of the state government are being formulated and tailored by members of the State Executive Council in their day-today deliberations.
He however said that no matter how good the ideas of council members, if the chief executive of the state is not heeding to them, such ideas cannot be made to fruition, and expressed delight that Governor Abubakar always accept good advice.
Madaki stated that the Governor is however against ideas or advice being offered him based on sentiments or self motives, stressing that such concoction would not even see the light of the day.
He recalled that the physically challenged have during the last general elections, actively participated in the exercise when they massively cast their votes for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC at both the state and federal levels.
Pharmacist Ibrahim Madaki therefore advised the beneficiaries to make the best use of the items provided them despite the paucity of funds in the coffers of the state government.
