Africa Beach Soccer Union President Hails Kaduna As Sports Consult Win End Of Year Championship

President Africa Beach Soccer Union Mahmud Hadejia has commended the Kaduna State Beach Soccer Association for its commitment at developing the game in the country, calling on others to emulate same.

He gave the commendation, when fielding questions from newsmen on the sidelines of the 2021 End of Year Kaduna State Beach Soccer Championship.

“So far so good, I give Kaduna State kudos for organizing this. Kaduna has led the way so far with this kind of competition.

“We want other states all over the country to emulate Kaduna and Kebbi,” he said.

Also speaking, the President NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) and Chairman Kaduna State Beach Socce Associationr, Engineer Musa Nimrod expressed satisfaction with the quality of play at the championship.

“This is the Kaduna State Beach Soccer End of year competition. The club’s participated are from Kaduna and we are satisfied with the crop of players we are seeing.

“It is giving confidence that Kaduna State will do well in the next tour.

“After this, the selected players will be going to open camp,’ he said.

Speaking further, he said that they are looking at starting the National Beach Soccer League in March 2022.

On those that contributed financial to the championship, he extended appreciation, while singling out a top engineering firm, Enviplan for its outstanding role.

“Enviplan International have contributed their quota to this and we are impressed with this,” he stressed.

He was optimistic that more sponsors will be sponsoring subsequent competitions.

“Beach Soccer is coming up, you can even see new referees coming up. Beach games are coming up soon,” he emphasized.

At the end of the championship, Sports Consult International emerged winners and were rewarded with a giant trophy and N80,000 cash prize.

Runners-up, Kakuri Academy smiled to the banks with N50,000,
second runners-up, Best Beach Soccer Club claimed N40,000, while fourth placed Morning Stars got N30,000.

In the epic final played at the Beach courts of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Sports Consult International trounced their opponents Kakuri Academy 9+1.

In the third place match earlier decided, Best Beach Soccer Club subdued Morning Stars 5-4 in a competitive game.

Captain of Sports Consult, Chidozie Frank said the victory was sweet.

” I am very happy because it’s not easy to be a champion.

“We won because we are used to sand playing. It’s not all teams that have idea of the game.

“We will prepare more for next season,” he assured.

NIgeria could not go for World Beach Volleyball champion in Thailand because of Omicron.

They said they will still quarantine our players for 14 days, which will be within the competition time.

President African Beach Volleyball has already petitioned, and I am happy about it.

We are preparing towards wealth games qualifiers coming up in Ghana by March 2022.

It is really unfortunate. I have just read that swimming in UAE, NIgeria could not go.
