World Bank Boosts Bauchi Rural Development

World Bank assisted project for Community and Social Development in Bauchi has expended over N717 Million in executing 357 Micro projects in 380 rural communities across the state from its inception in 2009 to 2016.
The Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation in Bauchi State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Mallam Kabir Aliyu Bununu said that Water and Health sectors have the largest share with about 204 and 99 of the micro projects respectively.
Bununu, who gave the sector by sector break down of projects under the agency during the period under review, explained that Education had 39, Environment 12, Rural Electrification 14, Socio Economic 6, while Gender /Vulnerable and Transport had 3 micro projects each respectively.
He disclosed that health sector attracts the highest funding of over N349  Million expended since inception of the project in July 2009 followed by Water with a disbursement of over N119 million, and Education gulped N117 million.
According to him, Rural Electrification consumed N68. 4 million, Environment N27. 7 million while Transport, Gender/Vulnerable and Socio Economic sector disbursement stands at N18. 7m, N10. 5m and N4. 8 million respectively.
Mallam Kabir Bununu further explained that out of the 380 approved micro-projects,  357 were completed,  9 projects are ongoing while 14 are yet commence, stressing that there wasn’t a single abandon projects.
