He said the chamber is not a political entity, “we have no knowledge about politics at all, we are ignorant, it is our fathers in the top big parties who know about politics.”
He explained that in their little corner, there’s a chamber of commerce and all they want to promote is commerce, training, industry, agriculture, mining and the business of people in Kaduna State and beyond.
“We serve as the arms of International Trade Fair, we serve all the 36 states
“However, when people come to Kaduna to do Trade Fair or when they come to Kaduna to do other businesses or when we go to their states to do whatever business we need to do, we are to support them,” he advised.
The Patron, noted that, “we should understand that this is not a political appointment, it is a service appointment. We are here to serve the business community of Kaduna State and the rest of Nigeria as a country.
“And the way we can serve them best is to work together, as one entity. We may have different views about how things should be done, but the views do not mean that we are enemies, we can still have different views of how things should be done, but the leadership of the chamber will coordinate those different views and give us one single view coming out from the chamber, the view to support the government of Nigeria, Kaduna State, local governments and emirate councils.”
In his remarks, the President, Kaduna Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), Suleiman Aliyu appreciated the chamber for the mantle of leadership bestowed on him, assuring the state of putting in his best to succeed as he carries out his tasks.
At the event, the first and second deputy presidents and other council members took oath of office by affirmation, which administered by the chamber’s lawyer.
They are; Alh.Suleiman Aliyu (President), Hon Ishaya Idi, Alh. Farouq Suleiman, Alh M.K. Abdulsalam, Dr. Auta Bulus Jamaka, Col.Jibril Hassan, Dr. Olusegun Falope, Engr Joseph Ukwenya, Hajia Rakiya Musa, Hajia Fatima T Usman, Hajiya Hadiza Mailafiya and Hajia Hauwa Idris.
