In an effort to sensitize women living within and outside various communities, a group under the aegis of “Women In Politics”, Kaduna State Chapter, has organized a one-day medical outreach and advocacy programme for women and youth within Rigasa community.

The one-day exercise which took place on Sunday at Gov’t Secondary School (GSS) Rigasa, is aimed at motivating and encouraging women to participate into politics, to ensure they collect their PVC and to check their health system as an effort of ensuring positive awareness in various parts of the state among women and youth.

Speaking during the one exercise, the Coordinator Kaduna State Chapter, Hajiya Halima Abdul Musa, disclosed that the medical outreach is part of the activities being carried out by group which is in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and also targeting at supporting the political will of most women and youth in communities across the nation.

She added that, the programme is also aimed at sensitizing women over the importance of their involvement into politics and the need for them to come out and vote for people of their own choice, especially the presidential candidate of the APC come 2023.

Hajiya Halima proclaimed that the women in politics is a national political organization that is based in Abuja, but has various chapters across the 33 states of the nation and which is saddled with the sole aim of creating awareness from the grassroots to the top  among women and youth with different supporting activities such as the free medical consultation and free drugs distribution.

She said, “we aim at engaging women into political participation and total inclusiveness in whatever decision to be made at anywhere in the government and today, we’ve decided to embark on advocacy of PVC collection because we believe that without women, there will be no nation and without women there will be no politics, as such, we  have decided to give free medical outreach as another way of reaching the women.”

Also speaking, Honourable Murjanatu Suleiman Shika, explained that the group is doing a lot in creating awareness and most women are now responding to their plea by not allowing other people to collect their PVC’s for other purpose and to stand by their voters card to protect it by not allowing themselves to be used, deceived or being mislead.

While commending the exercise by the group, Honourable Rahila John Bivan, co-ordinator of Chikun LGA said that, she was there in support of the group to ensure that the free medical treatment was given to the poor of the community and while the team has done a great job by ensuring adequate sensitisation is being carried out.

“In fact, I am impressed by the way all the activities are being done, starting from the free medical consultation and issuing of drugs, distribution of the foodstuff and creating the awareness among the women and youth, while the women were being organized in a claim and orderliness situation.”

Meanwhile, some of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Binta and Aminu Haruna Hassan expressed joy and satisfaction over the activities, while thanking the organization for looking up to them, considering that if they’re to purchase the foodstuff and  drugs at various hospitals, it might cost them more than their expectations.
