Wife Orchestrates Self-Kidnap To Dupe Husband

A Lagos based house wife, who connived with others to organise her self-kidnap and her daughter in order to dupe her husband, has been exposed by the police in Lagos.

The suspect, named Hadijat Kabir, aged 45 years was said to have conspired with a native doctor, identified as Wasiu Rufai a.k.a Ojulyawodon, Luqmon Ahmed Jossy, now at large, Ahmed Kudos ‘m’ 29years and Hadijat Rufai ‘f’ 39years all of Ado-Odo, Ogun State, to organise her fake kidnap.

While at the arranged kidnapping den, the kidnappers were said to have called the husband of the suspect, one Alhaji Kabir Muraino aged 55 years of Governor’s road, Ikotun, Lagos demanding for the sum of N15m before the hostages would be released.

Alhaji Kabir, unaware of the ploy, however reported the matter at the Ikotun Police Station that his wife and daughter one Hamidat Kemi age 18years, who is of unsound mind, were kidnapped on July 2nd 2018 on their way to the Psychiatric Hospital, Oshodi Lagos.

The Commissioner of Police Lagos Command, Edgal Imohimi confirmed the act a parade of criminal suspects Monday at the command headquarter, Ikeja.

Following the report, Edgal said he directed the Anti-Kidnapping Squad to ensure speedy rescue of the hostages and arrest of the suspects.

Stating that investigation revealed that the kidnappers were making their demands from a community in Ogun State, called Ado-Odo, Ado –Odo Ota LGA, Edgal added that the operatives of the squad mobilized to the area and busted the camp of the kidnappers.

He disclosed that this led to the rescuing of the hostages were rescued and the arrest of two of the kidnappers identified as Ahmed Kudos ‘m’ 29years and Hadijat Rufai ‘f’ 39years all of Ado-Odo, Ogun State, while the rest fled the scene.

In the course of interrogation, the police commissioner disclosed that wife of the complaint Hadijat Kabir confessed that she planned her kidnap with the suspects arrested to defraud her husband.

” On the 2/8/2018, at about 1530hrs one Alhaji Kabir Muraino ‘m’ age 55years of Governor’s Road, Ikotun reported at Ikotun Police Station that his wife named, Hadijat Kabir age 45years and his daughter Hamidat Kemi age 18years who is of unsound mind were kidnapped same date on their way to Psychiatric Hospital, Oshodi, Lagos.

That the kidnappers were demanding for the sum of N15m before the hostages would be released.  Based on this, I directed the Anti-Kidnapping Squad to ensure speedy rescue of the hostages and arrest of the suspects.

Investigation revealed that the kidnappers were making their demands from a community in Ogun State, called Ado-Odo, Ado –Odo Ota LGA.
The operatives of the squad mobilized to the area and busted the camp of the kidnappers.

The hostages were rescued and the following suspects were arrested.
Ahmed Kudos ‘m’ 29years and Hadijat Rufai ‘f’ 39years all of Ado-Odo, Ogun State, while the rest fled the scene.

When one of the hostages, Hadijat Kabir was being debriefed, she confessed that she planned her kidnap with the suspects arrested to defraud her husband.

She named the following persons who are on the run to be part of the kidnap syndicate:

Wasiu Rufai a.k.a Ojulyawodon (Her native doctor) Luqmon Ahmed Jossy (surname unknown)”, Edgal stated

He added that the case is under investigation with a view to arresting the fleeing suspects.
