The recent emergence of Comrade Titus Audu Amba as the acting National President of the organized, refined and defined body of the Nigerian Teachers (NUT) did not come to many as a surprise considering his track records, performance, loyalty and the vigour displayed during his stewardship as the Kaduna State Chairman of the great union.
That beautiful performance saw his eventful coming to national limelight and subsequent elevation to the position of the NUT national Publicity Secretary and presently, the acting national president.
Humble, quiet and unassuming, Comrade Titus Audu Amba despite the turbulence been accorded labour leaders (union officials) by the current administration in Kaduna State, the dogged, indefatigable and goal oriented leader succeeded in ameliorating the suffering of the generality of teachers in the state.
This he was able to achieve, through genuine team spirit, love and empathy for colleagues and associates.
As the chairman of NUT in Kaduna State, Comrade Titus Audu Amba designed, initiated and implemented wonderful developmental policies and programmes that include among others, the establishment of the Kaduna State Teachers Bank (NUT END WELL Micro Finance Bank), The Kaduna State Teachers House, presently housing the state secretariat and the successful commissioning of the Teachers Hotel by the former Kaduna State Governor, Dr muktar Ramalan Yero with all situated at the very heart of Kaduna metropolis.
Under his watch as the number one teacher in Kaduna State, Comrade Amba left no stone unturned towards effecting positive change in the lives of the average Kaduna State teacher, as loans were provided to interested teachers, ranging from motorcycles, building materials and electronics, while those in critical situations were given cash to enable a cross section of the teachers to own houses before retirement, as well as opening of other windows of opportunities towards attracting alternative sources of income to better the living standards of their families.
As a passionate leader with the fear of God, Comrade Titus Audu Amba sees every opportunity accorded him to lead others as a clarion privilege to serve God and humanity.
His genuine passion to serve as well as his loyalty to his leaders, endeared him to the minds of many that in fact, culminated to his endorsement to hold brief for four months as the NUT national president.
The immediate past national president of the NUT and the national working committee members of the union have strong belief on the ability of the people’s comrade to compliment and complete what they started as great leaders of the NUT.
The humble and quiet village boy from Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State never allowed his presumed lowly background to affect his normal tendencies and the ability to penetrate and attract laurels anywhere he found himself.
To him, corruption is not just the squandering of public resources, but the eroding of public trust.
Comrade Titus Audu Amba, a fine and refined gentleman in character if given the opportunity towards serving in a substantive capacity, would bring to bear the wise and beautiful successes of development in the union.
An encounter with the prolific teacher revealed how sincerely concerned he is towards the growth and development of Nigerian teachers. Giving him the mandate to lead has become very important, especially with a view to entrenching and consolidating on the gains thus far recorded by the immediate past national president of the union, who is now the APC gubernatorial candidate for Kebbi State in the North Western part of Nigeria.
Happily married with children, Comrade Titus Audu Amba has the demonstrable qualities of empathy, sincerity, humility, meekness and above all, the fear of God Almighty.
He always sees the NUT as his primary constituency and always gives all he could and in return, has earned the trust and respect of all, particularly now that Nigerian teachers will decide come the 28th of September, 2022 at Ibadan, who pilots its affairs towards the next feat of greatness.
To this end, Nigerian teachers, particularly the delegates that would soon converge on Ibadan to close ranks, bury their differences and support the personal credibility, amiability, resourcefulness and the indefatigable capacity to lead the NUT to the next level of competence and wonderful performance.
In the final analysis, Comrade Titus Audu Amba is a goal getter and the emancipator of the downtrodden, whom all Nigerian teachers must support towards bettering their welfare in our today’s contemporary Nigeria.
And those are hugely deposited in the man, Comrade Titus Audu Amba, the incumbent acting national president of the great Nigeria Union of Teachers and the former chairman of NUT in Kaduna State.
