Kaduna State Government led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai on Thursday said farmers are to walk into any local government area and pick up fertilizer at affordable prices.
The Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr Manzo Maigari who represented Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai disclosed this at the official flag off of the sales of fertilizer for 2018 cropping season, held at Turunku, the secretariat of Igabi Local Government in Kaduna.
According to him, the fertilizer would be sold for N5,500 per bag across the 23 local governments in the state.
He noted that, farmers should just walk into any Local Government Area secretariats and pick up to five bags at a time, at N5,500, below the market price of N8,000, reflecting about 60% reduction.
He described, stock will last all year round with 50,000 tons, an equivalent of 120 trucks of the products procured by the state government.
Farmers from 23 Local Government Area were present at the flag off of sales of fertilizer, they commended the state government for the gesture bestowed on them.
