Wednesday’s Kaduna Railway Operation Technical Hitch Caused by Track Fastening Clip Removal by Vandals – NRC

The technical hitch in Nigerian Railway Corporation’s (NRC) operation at Asham, Kaduna State, on Wednesday, was caused by the removal of track fastening clips by vandals.

Deputy Director, Public Relations of NRC, Yakub Mahmood, gave the explanation on Wednesday June 5,  2024.

He said, “This evening (Wednesday), the Management of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) experienced train technical hitch in our operation at Asham Railway Station in Chikun Local Government of Kaduna State. The passengers on board were safely returned to Abuja (Idu). Meanwhile, their tickets remain valid for a subsequent journey within two weeks.”

The NRC deputy director described the incident as minor.

He assured that the Management of Nigerian Railway Corporation remains resolute towards ensuring the safety of passengers in the Railway’s entire system.

The Management of Nigerian Railway Corporation expressed regrets over the inconveniences that the technical hitch caused the passengers.
