The Lere Local Government Area would be taking advantage of the huge potentials in job creation for agriculture in employing several from the area that are yet to be gainfully employed.
Chairman of Lere Local Government Council, Honourable Abubakar Buba expressed this while speaking to our correspondent in an interview.
“Agricultural engages everybody, it reduces crime and we will use it to increase the per capita income of Lere,” he assured.
He said that already, farmers in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State are happy and are ready to contribute their quota to Nigeria’s food security as a result of the demystifying of fertilizer sales.
Buba further stressed that they are pleased that they can walk into a shop and purchase fertilisers at government approved prices.
“The sales of fertilizer has been demystified. At the prize of N5,500 it is available everywhere, you can walk in and buy. I am telling you, all the farmers are happy, ” he said.
The LGA boss said that there is a public private partnership in the local government area, where they have put things in place for all the grains in Lere is to be collected and packaged to international standards so they would be attractive for exports.
