Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Saturday is to continue to work in harmony with other Security agencies to ensure Oyo State remain most peaceful and safest State in Nigeria.
The state NSCDC Commandant, CC Michael Akintayo Adaralewa made this known while addressing the HOD’s, HOU’s, Area Commanders and Divisional officers of the Corps on the modalities to enhance a safe and peaceful environment for the citizens of the State as Christmas and new year celebrations is fast approaching.
Commandant Adaralewa declared that there is the need for officers and men of the Corps not to rest on their hoarse until the State is fully safe for all and sundry.
” We still work in harmony with other Security agencies to ensure Oyo State remain most peaceful and safest State in Nigeria”, he said.
Speaking further, Commandant Adaralewa said over 70 cases range from ” OBT/FORGERY, STEALING, ASSAULT, ARMED ROBBERY, VANDALISM OF ELECTRIC CABLES, ALLEGED ILLEGAL MINING, ALLEGED VANDALISM AND THREAT TO LIFE just to mention few were handled by the command..
The NSCDC Commandant said the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Corps have treated four hundred and fourteen cases 414 in the cause of the year which cut across different type of cases including 26 Child trafficking, 9 disobedience child , 41 child placement, 40 threat to life , 51 Child neglect, 47 defilement/rape, 17 indecent assault, 88 domestic violence/physical assault/battery, 23 Child abuse,4 missing mother’s and children, 1 Child death 1illegal abortion and forceful marriage
Maintaining that Oyo NSCDC also secured judgement in 6 out of the many cases already in Court, Commandant Adaralewa lauded the Disaster management unit of the command for its quick response to disaster management in the State and part of the Unit achievement for the year .
Commenting on the Peace and Conflict resolution Unit of the Corps, CC Adaralewa stressed that the unit have tried to make peace a significant issue in the State with the record of 340 cases handled in which 290 were resolved, one of the cases was transferred while 49 of the cases still pending.
