By; Buhari B. Bello, Jos.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has appealed to the Federal Government to make refund of the sum of money spent by the state government on federal projects in the state.
He made this call in Jos when the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola paid him a courtesy visit as part of tour of federal roads in the state.
The governor  told the minister that the immediate past administration in the state embarked on strategic uncompleted federal government projects which his administration is planning of completing “for the benefit of people in the state“.
Lalong also assured the readiness of the state government to provide a parcel of land for the Federal Government Housing Scheme in the state.
He said such contract amounts to over 15 billion naira where the state government had already spent 6 billion naira despite the state lean resources.
The governor told the Minister that effort is being intensified for the allocation of land for the Federal Housing in view of the fact that the state lacks such project.
Earlier, Babatude Raji Fashola urged Nigerians to cultivate the habit of conserving power in their home, office and recreational centre as part of ways to save energy.
He called on respective state governments to assist the federal government in its effort at building a motorable ways in the country.
According to him, the Buhari led administration is ready to work closely with governors and advise the governors’ forum to help establish road rules on road usage in their states.
He lamented a situation where some individuals in the country violated road traffic by blocking federal highways at will.
