” As it is today, Nigeria needs a competent project manager, since leadership is by competency, hard work, and commitment. Therefore I urged you Jigawa  PDP delegates to elect  a credible and competent aspirant amongst us who will lead the country to success”.
Bauchi State Governor and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Senator Bala Mohammed expressed this while speaking at a consultative forum with Jigawa delegates ahead of the forthcoming PDP Presidential primaries slated for May 23 in Abuja,  while kicking against zoning.
Senator Bala Mohammed  kicked against zoning, saying it’s injustice and a violation of their party’s constitution as well as infringement to  fundamental voting rights in electing rightful candidates of  their choice.
” I don’t subscribe to power shift as it only dictates dictatorship in denial of fundamental human rights and privileges of politicians vying for different political positions,” he said.
Addressing Jigawa PDP delegates to the forthcoming presidential primaries slated for  May 23 in Abuja, Senator Bala said, “our rejection of this principle is  that it preaches injustice, resulting in producing unpopular candidates detrimental to popular votes of the electorate.
“We don’t argue blindly, but what we are saying is that let such procedures uphold fairness, and social justice to all. Let politicians and electorate be allowed to exercise their fundamental human rights freely in electing  leaders of their choice without any hinderance, nor interference of either party’s bigwigs, nor officials of INEC.
“Politics is all about interest. Therefore, both the party supporters of each and given registered political parties and aspirants be allowed to exhibit their fundamental human rights freely  without any hinderance in giving free hands to electorate to elect leaders of their choice under the tenet of true democracy.
“There is nothing wrong in rotating power amongst the people of the six geo- political zones in the country, provided there is justice, honesty, and transparency not to perpetrate injustice or imposition because of greed, nepotism, selfishness and corruption of party’s bigwigs who always infiltrate injustice and baseless sentiments just to suit their personal interest, a situation which jeorpadises the emergence of purposeful good governance.
“Political leadership is for credible political leaders  with vast public exposure and experience in the art of governance,” he said,  stressing   that only the opposition party PDP has the expertise and capable aspirants who know in and out of the country, its people and predicament in having the remedy for a way forward.
On his mission, Governor Bala said as  a principled technocrat and seasoned politician,  he believes in social justice and good governance.
” I vow to offer a purposeful leadership with the inclusion of capable hands as my lieutenants, whose talents and expertise could add  advantage to our pursuit to offer an inclusive governance for the betterment of all and sundry,” he assured.
In his response, the Jigawa PDP Chairman, Hon Babandi Ibrahim Gumel assured.of the support of 92 PDP delegates to the Bauchi State Governor, Alh. Bala Mohammed in the forthcoming PDP Presidential primaries slated for May 23 in Abuja.
