The President Catholic Bishops of Nigeria and Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama has taken a critical look at the feature of the nation under the current regime and challenged “Nigerian citizens  to remain faithful and imbibe the spirit of forgiveness and tolerance in their live”.
He stated this during the ordination and  golden jubilee with the historic gathering of catholic worshipers held at Fatima Catholic Church in Jos, Plateau State.
He admonished sinners that,“let us all work at being optimistic and avoid cynicism rather than respond to cynicism, skepticism and doubt with hope”.
Archbishop Kaigama also ordained seven Deacons, charging them to use their position “in serving God and humanity by reflecting on  the teaching of our LORD Jesus Christ in their faith“.
He stressed that the yearly ordination is a ritual sacrifice prayer for newly ordained members who are desired to serve God and humanity .
Those ordained in 2016 fiscal year included Benjamin Went, Pam Adamu, John Emeka, Joseph Abu, Moses Peter, Peter Adams and Peter Afan Agwom respectively.
The Rev. Father Mathew Akaka while presenting them, testified that they were found worthy in character to be ordained to serve God and humanity.
He urged the catholic members to be richly blessed in the teaching of the bible through doing extra ordinary acts to remain steady fast in their daily conduct.
“We need to commit ourselves to learning about our Catholic faith and sharing our understanding of the faith with other knowledge and skills with friends and fellow students “.
Father James Davou encouraged Christian to keep visitation as their priority.
Davou noted that as believers we need to participate actively in worship  and obedience to the will of God.
