The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has promised the residents of Oshimili South Local Government Area, that the party will continue to develop the area, with the coming of the next government, to consolidate the already gained milestones.

The Delta North Chairman of the party, Elder Moses Iduh stated this on Monday December 5, 2022 when the campaign council visited six wards in the area.

The chairman observed that the government of the PDP especially under Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has turned the development of the area, especially Asaba and its immediate environment, with projects dotting every corner of the town.

He listed the various projects which were started in the last seven years, such as the completion of the Mariam Babangida Way, the Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat, the Stephen Keshi Stadium, the stormwater projects, the numerous connecting roads and drainages, the establishment of the Sir Dennis Osadebey University, the specialist hospital and many other projects which have uplifted the face of Asaba, giving it the right name as a state capital.

“Our great party, the PDP has shown capacity to govern, as we have transformed the local government area, especially Asaba and environs to a modern city, befitting of a state capital”

“You can count the number of government attention to this area. You can agree with me we have done much and we are still doing.”

‘Within this period we have completed the Marian Babangida Way, built a New State Secretariat, a new specialist hospital, the Stormwater projects, which had helped to control the annual flooding of the town, the opening of streets with good drainage systems, which had helped to reduce traffic congestions in the city.

“What about the economic and social lives of the area, this also had increased. We all can testify to this.”

The chairman, while thanking the PDP family in the wards visited, assured them that the candidates of the party, at the federal, state, and local government levels are prepared to continue with the infrastructure and social-economic improvement of the area.

“All these years, you had supported the party, and the Government. We appreciate you for that, and the party in 2023 will continue to work for the area. We call for your continuous support as we approach the next election.

He also used the opportunity to denounce the statement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, calling it a reckless statement not befitting of such a person who is gunning to represent the people at the National Assembly.

On his part, the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya assured the Campaign Council of the total vote of the people from the Wards, as they will all vote for the candidates of the party at all levels.

“I assure you, the PDP will get all our votes, we had not voted outside the PDP, and we assure you of that.” He added.

Others who spoke were the Deputy Governorship Candidate, Sir Monday Onyeme, Candidate for the Delta North Senatorial District, Prince Ned Nwoko, member and candidate for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Candidate for the Oshimili South Constituency, Barr. Bridget Anyafulu and a former Board of Trustees, BOT member, Chief Ejiofor Onyia.

The visit to the wards attracted a massive crowd of party supporters, and leaders of the party across the Delta North Senatorial District of the State. Those present were the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Ochor, other State Assembly members, the State Party Secretary, Engr.
