VP Osibanjo in Minna, Assures Citizens of Better Days Ahead

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo has pleaded with Nigerians to show more understanding and have greater hope for better days ahead as the present administration pulls out the chestnuts from fire for the good of the country.
 
He said Sunday in Minna that the current economic hardship faced by citizens though painful and daunting, were surmountable even as he assured that the present administration was determined and committed to get the country right back on the track for economic solvency and happy days again.
Vice President Osibanjo was in Minna as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2016 Minna Choral Society and the 8th Annual Festival of Songs held at the Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre.
 
He enjoined all well meaning citizens to remain prayerful, unwaveringly resilient and patriotic as the government works out ways of getting the country back on its feet from its comatose position.
 
The Nigerian number two citizen and his wife, Dolapo as well as the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, Nigeria’s former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana were among guests at the annual event.
 
The event which wass organised prelude to the month of December as Christmas Carol, also attracted litany of Christian clergies led by the Niger State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and other prominent clergymen.
 
This year’s event also had some Muslim Clerics as guests in attendance to add specs to the occasion.
 
Vice President Osibanjo said Nigerians must learn to be patient, strong and have faith in the APC led administration under President Muhammadu Buhari assuring that the country would soon overcome its challenges.
 
Coincidentally, the theme for this year’s festival of songs was ‘‘we are more than conquerors” for which the Vice President leveraged on to urge citizens across religious divides to remain fervent in prayers and work hard for the good of the country.
 
He praised the organizers of the Minna Choral festival of songs and described their efforts as one of the best in the country.
 
Niger State Governor in a brief remark, pledged his government’s support for the annual event. He noted that his administration would explore ways of ensuring religious harmony and building bridges of understanding, peace and unity especially amongst youths of different religions in the state.
