Press Statement
Following the emergency SEC Meeting called by the acting Chairman Zhiroh Jatau, Kaduna State Council of Nigerian Union of Journalists, after various deliberations by SEC members in attendance, having noticed the division even among the EXCOs and having failed to call for a congress to resolve the crises bedeviling the union as provided by the NUJ constitution article 5D Sub-section 7, members of the SEC passed a vote of no confidence on the EXCO.
In view of this development the EXCOS ceased to be in existence and in their place Austine Anyebe of NTA chapel is unanimously assigned to head the interim committee with Bello Hamza of Al-Mizan chapel as the secretary.
The SEC members are hereby calling on all NUJ members to remain calm and very soon a congress will be called to ratify the decision and forge ahead.
