No fewer than thirteen houses and farm inputs worth thousands of naira have been destroyed by irate youths in Babban Dutse village under Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State following the dethronement of the Village Head, Malam Umaru Marafa by the state government for partisan politics.
Our correspondent who visited the area reported that the youths who were in large number came out from their houses shortly after government announced the removal of the Village Head, burnt about thirteen houses into ashes, went to some farm land outskirt of the village, and destroyed any farm inputs in sight.
A youth who does not wants his name in the print, told New Nigerian that they took laws into their hands in order to show their anger and also protest what the government has done to the people of the area.
An elder in the village who also spoke on condition of anonymity, appealed to government to consider the people’s plea and reinstate the village head.
New Nigerian gathered that the dethroned Village Head was alleged to have made some utterances concerning politics which did not go down well with the government.

When contacted, the Sole Administrator of the Birnin Kebbi local government, Aliyu Mohammed Ambursa who confirmed the removal  said it was effected as directed by the state government.
