Veteran Journalist Walter Uba Dies At 68

A Kaduna based journalist, Walter Uba, died after a protracted sickness at the age of 68. The first son, Anas, confirmed Friday.
According to him Walter Uba, passed on in his sleep in early hours of Friday.
He was recently discharged from a private hospital in Kaduna after showing some signs of improvement
The late veteran journalist was. Zaria reporter of Punch Newspapers a pioneer reporter of Vanguard newspaper in Kaduna state where he rose to the post of Bureau Chief. ! Benin correspondent of. Democrat Newspaper and reporter with Republic Newspaper.
Before his demise he was a reporter with Lawmaker Magazine.
Walter Uba who will be remembered as a detribalized Nigerian Christian from Anambra state but married to Hausa Muslim woman from Kano State.
He was always at home with everybody irrespective of religion or ethnic affiliation.
The chairman Kaduna State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Adamu Yusuf who led a delegation of the council to condole with the family of the late veteran colleague, said the deceased was a father, a role model to many journalists in terms of professionalism.
He prayed for Almighty God to grant the departed rest and forgive all his short comings while alive.
He called the wife of the deceased, Hadiza Uba, to take heart and remember that death is  a debt that everybody has to taste.
The NUJ Chairman called on the state government to and other well-meaning Nigerians to come to assistance of the bereaved family as a way of showing their appreciation to their father’s contribution to the peace and stability in Kaduna State.
