VC Condemns Move To Scrap Management Courses From MAUTECH

Move  by the National University Commission to do away  with management courses from Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH ), Yola has been condemned .

 The Vice Chancellor  Prof.Kyari  Mohammed of MAUTECH  who made his stance known during 1st International Conference on Business, Economics, Accounting and Technology (BEAT) in Yola on Wednesday,  said in view of the educational set back caused  by insurgency ,management courses would help in increasing literacy level of over 9 million school drop out in  the north.

 According to him, it would take over 30 years for the region to recover from the fetters  of insurgency and back to pre-insurgency era.

 “The country has multiple issues to tackle, graduates of management can raise high level manpower to tackle these challenges for the development of the country, as a technology driven institution, the University established in 1981,with four schools, today can boost of  many, with large number of  students exiling through them, and are into global markets”, he stated.

 “Management and Technology courses would coexist to further fast rack development of the country and the community where the institution is established”, he added.

 In his remark, the chairman of the occasion, who is also is the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Otuoke Bayelsa state ,prof. Seth Accara Jaja, stressed  the significance of management subjects to national development.

 He said the best way to curb corruption in the society is to ensure proper management at all level of governance
