Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen- In -Islam Worldwide Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke Monday asked Muslims to see the Ramadhan period as an opportunity to give to the poor and the needy in the society.
Professor Olagoke stated this in his message made available to journalists in Ibadan on the commencement of this year Ramadan fasting.
The Cleric stressed that  with the starting of another Ramadan fasting, the time has come for true Muslims to be virtuous throughout the period and beyond.
“I hope that the potency of Ramadan shall be seized as an advantage for wholesome practice of religion and sincere fasting in the month for the dividend of Islam to be realised as protective coat of arms, healing therapy, breaking fetters and removing the yoke as well as warding off evil for a safe and secured prosperous life with high hope for the blessing of the hereafter”he said.
Professor Olagoke then urged “true Muslims to keep firmly to their  medical directives during the 30-day fasting.
Commenting on the killing of a 74-year-old woman in Kano for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Mohammed (SAW), the Cleric frowned at the murder, saying the murder was not carried out by true muslims.
According to Professor Olagoke, the “murder of the septugerian in Kano was a travesty of justice, and that Islam as a religion, does not direct anybody to carry arms in order to win souls.”
“I hereby call on the law enforcement agents to ensure that those who hide under the cloak of religion in Kano to wreak vengeance on their perceived enemies, be brought to book.”
While lauding the Federal Government for its proactive measures put in place to checkmate the activities of terrorists and Niger Delta avengers in the nation, the Cleric asked those engaging in fasting to be security conscious during their prayers in various mosques, either in the morning or evening in view of criminal elements in our society.
