A former gubernatorial candidate

of the People Democratic Party (PDP), in Plateau State, and the former FCT Minister, Lt. General Jeremiah Timbut Useni has called for the unity of the party in Plateau State and the country as he assured supporters that leaders are working towards genuine reconciliation.

Briefing his group, Useni urged them to remain calm and work for the victory of the PDP at the Saturday by-election scheduled to hold on the 26th February 2022.
Sen. Jeremiah Useni explained further that there is no crisis or faction existing in the PDP, whatever, we are doing now is that we just agreed to disagree on some sharing formula within the party.
According to him, the meeting held with the River state Governor Nyesom Wike was fruitful because we met at my residence and discussed so many vital issues from there he went back and met the former Governor Jonah David Jang in court and I was later invited to Jang house for dialogue.
“We all met in Jang’s house and I saw the multitude of the crowd waiting and I never knew that the meeting was going to invite many as the number of PDP Jang supporters enveloped the reconciliation.
We couldn’t finish the final meeting and the former Governor was telling us that he brought the party to Plateau state under the G18, G34, and G39 and has governed the state for 8 years, but we insisted that those that won their elections and were denied should be reversed back for peace to reign.
Useni disclosed that what is happening with the PDP is that the party doesn’t belong to one person it belongs to all of them.

“We have accepted to let go, but we still insist that the damage done by the imposition of Chris Hassan-led excos should be correcte.
“However, all this long delay was from the Appeal Court which is still pending, causing the unnecessary delay,” he said.
He urged his supporters to remain calm as the template sharing formula is underway, and we will soon be united again, so he urged all aggrieved members to forgive and forget.
Sen.Jeremiah Useni added that “we are handling the matter at a higher level, so please don’t fight, but stand firm and take your position in the party.

A former Speaker, Rt. Emmanuel Goar, commended the General, while expressing joy on his fast recovery from sickness, saying one thing that is keeping the General strong is the prayer of the people.
He said, “as we have been briefed on the development by various leaders of PDP across wards and LGAs, we encourage our leaders to put their hands on deck and maintain the party structures.”
Goar stated that Plateau people are yearning for change asking the PDP to reconcile their differences to clinch the bye-elections in Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin South House of Assembly seats.

He stressed that PDP would bounce back, “so we have genuine reconciliation, cooperation to take advantage because the odd of electioneering campaign is favouring us that is what our political leaders are spending the sleepless nights to achieve.
Former PDP Chairman, Hon Damishi Sango said the internal crisis will soon be put behind them as the party is working hard to ensure that peace returns.
He explained that stakeholders are coming together to build a block of unity
