US Legislative group honours Gov Masari

Georgian Legislative Black Caucus in the United States of America has honoured Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State with congregational commendation Award.
The Chair of the caucus, Dee Dawkins Haigler and assisted by lawmaker Erica Thomas handed over the Award to the governor during a ceremony held at Asokoro, Katsina Governor’s lodge in Abuja.
Speaking shortly after receiving the Award, Governor Aminu Bello Masari noted that the greatest problem facing African countries especially Nigeria has been leadership.
The Governor however expressed optimism that Africa would be the next theatre of activities in the world within the next few years to come.
According to him, Nigeria offers the biggest market due to its numerical strength, pointing out that education remains the best option for addressing poverty and other developmental challenges. He stressed that India, Pakistan and Philippines got out of their predicament through giving education the needed priorities.
Alhaji Aminu Masari expressed the need for media to give the present leadership at the national level the cooperation and support to get the country out of present economic recession.
The Governor appreciated the gesture done to him and the people of Katsina State by the Georgian Legislative Black caucus in the United States.
The chair of the Georgian Legislative Black caucus, Dee Dawkins Haegler expressed the readiness of the caucus to work closely with the government of Katsina State to promote education, agriculture and health.
She said the award to governor Masari was done following a careful survey on the performance of the Governor now and as former Speaker of the fifth National Assembly.
On her part, a lawmaker from Georgia, Miss Erica Thomas said the award was in recognition of Governor Masari’s contributions for Democratic development in Nigeria and invited him to the United States in this month or before the end of the year for further collaboration between the state of Georgia and Katsina.
The publisher of African leadership Magazine, Dr.ken Giami said with the award to governor Masari, his name would now be on display in the Africa Hall of Fame located in the state of Georgia in the United States of America.
