University of Ibadan expels 97 students

Authorities of the University of Ibadan have expelled 97 students from the institution over their failure to obtain the minimum academic requirements at the end of 2014/15 session.
The Premier University in a special bulletin made available to journalists and signed by its Registrar, Mr. Olujimi Olukoya, stated that the students cut across 7 of its faculties in the university.
“Senate at its meeting of Monday, January 1, 2016, approved that the candidates whose names appear on this list should withdraw from the university over their failure to obtain the minimum academic requirements at the end of 2014/2015 session” it added.
According to the bulletin, the expelled students are at various levels as well as in final year in the 7 faculties with some of them having their student ships lapsed while three voluntarily withdrew from the institution.
