Following the gruesome murder of the Labour Party Women Leader, Mrs. Victoria Chintex in Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area   of Kaduna State, precisely on November 28, 2022, the National Director, Inter-Religious affairs of Labour Party/God Coalition for a Better & Brighter Nigeria (CBBN), Amb. Dr. Polycarp Gankon, has called for immediate arrest of the killers of the women leader.

In a statement issued in Kaduna, he said, “As a party, we outrightly condemn  the killing of the innocent woman who has over the years contributed to the development and growth of the state, being a politician of repute.

“However, it is our utmost believe that the security agencies will as a matter of urgency arrest the culprits and make them face the wrath of the law for short living the life of a woman whose political experience is needed most especially at this political era for the victory of the party in the state come 2023 and beyond.

“It is also worthy of note that her husband narrowly escaped the attack as he is left to nurse the bullet wounds he sustained during the incident which was clearly a case of assassination directed at the Labour Party Women Leader.

“We use this medium to also call on the concerned authorities to also address all forms of impunity which encourage various forms of political crimes and abuses in the country especially as the electioneering period is in its peak.”

He noted that the development is saddening and must be addressed by the government in order not to heat the polity and further endanger the innocent citizens of Kaduna state, adding that it is also to show that the security situation in Kaduna state has gone so bad, hence the need to reverse the ugly situation before it gets out of control.

“As a responsible party who believe in the development of the state and her people that we are also calling on the government of Kaduna state to beef up security across the 23 local government areas of the state, just as we also recommended that an investigation committee be set-up to unraveled the perpetrators,” he stressed.

He added, “We sincerely sympathise with the family of the deceased, the people of Manchok; Kaura Local Government, Labour party family and the entire people of Kaduna state over the death of our sister and mother, Mrs. Victoria Chintex.”
