Uba Decries Rising Spate Of Out-of- School Children In Anambra

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 6 poll in Anambra State, Senator Andy Uba has decried the growing rate of out-of- school children in the state.

Uba’s reaction came on the heels of a statistics released by a non governmental organisation about the number of out of school children in the state.

The non governmental organisation known as “Evidence and Collaboration for Inclusive Development” had in a workshop in Awka on Wednesday, said, “Although there is free education policy in Anambra state, many parents claimed they were paying fees for their wards, especially at the secondary school level. A statement by the former Senator’s campaign team and signed by Afam Ogene, Iba queried “the sincerity of a government which left a problem to fester for seven years – with a questionable promise to redress same with only few months to its lifespan.”

He gave assurance that the trend would end if he is elected governor of the state come November 6, 2021.

He added, “Quality education for our children is a major priority for me. We will renovate and reconstruct hundreds of our dilapidated schools and transform them into model schools and centres of excellence.”

Meanwhile, the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial district, Stella Oduah, has promised to deliver the district to the APC, in the upcoming governorship election in the state.
