Two night guards are now in police net in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital for allegedly raping and robbing a woman identified as Zainab inside a Mosque.
New Nigerian gathered that the night guards identified as Olajide (30) and Olanrewaju (29) were attached to a filling station along Ologun Eru/Eruwa road where the woman slept having arrived Ibadan late from Niger state.
The night guards armed with guns and cutlass were said to, on sighting Zainab fast sleeping inside the mosque reportedly rushed at her and allegedly raped and robbed her before they escaped.
Zainab was said to have raised alarm after the night guards escaped from the mosque while residents in the nearby area rushed out only to meet her weeping profusely.
She was said to have voiced her ordeal to the people during which she described those that raped and robbed her. The people upon Zainab’s explanations fingered the night guards as the likely suspect.
It was gathered that the matter was immediately reported to the police leading to the arrest of the two night guards after which they were identified by Zainab as those that raped and robbed her early that day.
Police source declared that the suspects upon interrogation, “confessed to the crime” while exhibits recovered from the night guards included “five cutlasses, two Cell phones and two sim cards-one of which belonged to Zainab as well as assorted criminal charms.
