The Police in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday dragged two men; Ibrahim Mohammad, 30 and Usman Haruna, 26 before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate court over alleged stealing of Cows.
The Police prosecutor, Sgt. Caleb Leranmo told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 3 at about 2am at Ilafon-Ekiti in Oye Local government area of Ekiti State.
He alleged that the accused, the said date, unlawfully stole sixteen cows which was valued at the rate of N1M on the property of one Yusuf Abdullahi.
According to him, the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State 2012.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence while their counsel, Mr. Timilehin Omotosho prayed the court to grant bail to the accused in liberal term, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
Chief Magistrate Aderopo Adegboye consequently granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case to July 6,2016 for further hearing.
