Troops repels Boko Haram Terrorist attack at Kareto
Boko Haram terrorists attacked troops of 113 Battalion at Kareto in Northern Borno State but were successfully repelled by the troops, many of the insurgents killed and twenty two soldiers wounded.
The troops started battling the insurgents since early hours of Monday morning according to Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman.
He said the Nigerian troops successfully repelled the attack by Boko Haram terrorists who attempted an incursion into  113 Battalion at Kareto, in  Northern Borno State.
HE stressed that the timely response of the troops involved air cover as more reinforcement were deployed. “The troops successfully repelled the attack and killed quite a number of the terrorists.
“The situation has since been brought under control and reinforcement sent. So far our troops had 2 officers and 22 soldiers wounded in action. All of them have been evacuated to Military Hospital Maiduguri where they are receiving treatment” he explained.
