Troops of the Nigerian Army’s operation Hadin Kai have eliminated four High Ranking Commanders of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) in a coordinated Air strike targeting the terrorists strongholds in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.
It was gathered that four military fighter jets, including Super Tucano belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ‘aggressively’ raided camps of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) on Wednesday and Thursday in a weeklong sustained aerial attacks.
The damaging intelligence led air offensives conducted in Bukar Mairam and Jubularam, Abbaganaram and Chikul Gudu also led to the elimination of hundreds of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists.
An impact assessment conducted at the scene revealed that top Commanders including Amir Abdulrahman of Abbaganaram, Imam Tujja, an Amir and Chief Imam of Bukar Mairam, Malam Ibrahim, Amir of Jubularam and Bakura Imar, a High ranking ISWAP Commander, were eliminated in the air strikes.
An intelligence operative embedded in the local community confirmed that camps and warehouses serving as ISWAP insurgents’ ammunition and firearms including food silos were bombed by the aircraft.
A source confirmed that the ISWAP group was escaping from the recently destroyed camps as wounded fighters were evacuated to Kirta Wulgo for Medical attention.
The source said that mass relocation has further been triggered by the sustained and successful air bombardment on their hideout and camps. Families of the terrorists especially women and children were evacuated to Buningil, Bakkassi, Doron Liman, and Daban Alfa.
