An average young man whose name was given as Friday Nwokpor, has lost his life from a ghastly car accident that occurred at Ogbogbo Ekebeligwe, Ishieke Bridge recently.
According an an eyewitness, Mr. Uche Okeagu he said that late Friday Nwokpor was driving a Sienna car with a plate number, EKY 10B when he was moving from Nwori Isophumini Mbeke Ishieke in Ebonyi LGA to Ezza North LGA of Ebonyi State but unfortunately, the Sienna skid off the Ogbogbo Wooden Bridge, somersaulted and killed the driver, while his brother, Chinedu Nwokpor sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Mr. Okeagu noted that the car somersaulted into the Ogbogbo River as he lost control of the vehicle on high speed, which resulted to accident .
The eyewitness further explained that the driver and his younger brother were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, but Mr. Friday Nwokpor who was the driver
died, while his brother is still receiving treatment at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.
Also, the village head of Ekebeligwe Mbeke Ishieke in Ebonyi LGA, Chief Lazarus Nwonyibe lamented the critical condition of Ogbogbo Bridge where the accident occurred, saying that many lives have been lost on that bridge therefore, calling on the government to come to their rescue to put the situation under control.
