The Management of Topfaith Schools, a private institution located in Mkpatak, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has said that it has instituted a N1.5million cash prize for the Schools’ Scholar in Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE) to encourage students for excellent academic performance.

Chairman of the Schools’ Management Board, Dr Emmanuel Emmanuel Abraham that said that the school scholar in this year’s Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE), Master Emmanuel Zekhome went home with the cash prize of N1.5m

Speaking to journalists in Uyo on Tuesday, Dr Emmanuel Abraham
noted that the excellent performance of his students in this year’s WAEC examinations was not a miracle but painstaking and intentional approaches by teachers, parents and the students combined to enhance such brilliant performance.

He said other scholars from the school have already grabbed the cash prize in the past years as the school management will continue to spur the scholars for more academic attainments.

Abraham; an Economist and Educationist said out of 193 candidates presented by the school in 2024 Senior Secondary School Examinations (SSCE), the first 40 students scored higher grades while 3 students from the 40 candidates scored 8 ‘A’ s each from 9 subjects offered for the examinations..

Abraham said the second set of 9 students scored 7’A’s and the third set had 6 ‘A’ s parallel while others scored 5 ‘A’s which is eligible for university admission.

“Our philosophy is that we are always aspiring to be on top because our faith is top. This is why we are called “TOPFAITH”. With that alone, we are poised to continuously go up.

“The SSCE for this year is much higher in performance than last year . The breakdown shows the first 40 students by our assessment did well.

“Out of this number, the first three students scored 8 ‘A’s each and one “B” because our students offered 9 subjects each in the examinations. So within the 9 subject areas, three of them scored ‘A’ s parallel and one “B” each . Following them immediately is another set of 12 students scoring 6 “A”s parallel and three “B”s and between 5 and “4”s are the rest of the students we presented for the exams.

“We actually presented 193 candidates for 2024 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations ( SSCE) . The students were intentionally groomed to achieve this scores. This intention will gain momentum because from the media, I read that the University of Calabar this year is using grade point to screen JAMB candidates for admission.
This means that by the time you have 9 or 8 ‘A’s it is something to remember that such student carried an aggregate points of 10 in nine subjects, we will have 5 as aggregates.

Abraham said nobody will compete with the products of the school for this year’s university admission .

“Nobody will compete with our products for this university admission exercise. This is the beauty of this kind of performance shown by our students. We thank God that our intentional approach in grooming the students to achieve this excellence have been blessed by God , activated by our students and moderated by our teachers.” He said
