Barely 24 hours after a presidential campaign strategy tagged “South-West Agenda (SWAGA 2023)”, was flagged off to represent All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Bola Tinubu, political ambition, and interest ahead of 2023,  the Lagos State former governor has returned to Lagos, to acknowledge the supports been drummed from his entire political associates across the country, after a short medical stay in the United Kingdom.

Aside SWAGA, other formidable political groups including Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO), have continued gearing up for campaign strategies on same course, even as issues on where Nigeria’s next president would come from has been under serious contention between northerners and southerners.

Tinubu, who had been receiving medical treatment in UK since three months ago, came into Lagos on Friday evening unannounced as APC state congresses, expected to be held on October 15, draws near.

It was gathered from sources at his residence that the man left London for Lagos Friday noon, contrary to information in public glare that the APC national leader would be arriving in Nigeria on Sunday.

They said that the former governor’s return to Lagos was not part of the initial plan but the man insisted to touch ground at home first so as to meet with his people who they claimed he may have missed.

One of the sources confirmed that a prayer session had already been put in place by Tinubu Support Organisation and the prayer was expected to be held on Saturday.

He explained that the group agenda was to always provide the man necessary and needed supports at a time when they believe the former governor need it most.

From political quarters, Tinubu’s arrival into the country would reduce speculations on the man’s health status, and his body language towards the groups would determine if the APC national leader is in for the 2023 presidential race.

Meanwhile, rumours about Tinubu’s death peddling in public domain weeks after his arrival in UK disappeared following President Muhammadu Buhari’s visitation to the APC leader and that of other stalwarts in the ruling party including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his Kano, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun counterparts, who also showed the man solidarity during his stay abroad.

Besides, Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who is one of Tinubu’s political son, as well as a group of senators representing Lagos as well as other states, Lagos House of Assembly members led by Speaker of the House, Mudasiru Obasa, and cabinet members of Lagos state government, including the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the governor, Tayo Ayinde, and other political appointees also paid the man a homage.

Few days before his return, Tinubu was sighted on the street of London with a caucus of Northern lawmakers who were in the UK to solidarise with the man and discuss matters relating to the country’s security and presidential zoning ahead of 2023 election
